Hallormsstadur Forest Hike
The Hallormsstadur forest is probably one of the most "Scandinavian" areas in Iceland. Here you can find lush mosses and actual high trees, divided by streams and ponds. An idyllic place that is rarely frequented by tourists. Throughout the hike, enjoy the views over the lake Lagarflót. Legend has it that a large monster lives in the lake, chained to its bottom by a mighty viking hero! For a refreshment after the hike, checkout the nearby Hotel Hallormsstadur.
